Excerpt
The energy, tenacity and clearsightedness which Dr. Comlan A. A. Quenum shows in his activities as Regional Director for Africa of the World Health Organization may be found in his speeches. This volume is composed of addresses which have been selected for their interest to programming, As such, they represent a source of inspiration for all people who have the development of Africa at heart. Since the beginning of the century incalculable progress has been made. However, one must always go further with clear precise plan's and a proper idea of priorities which have to be identified and formulated with objectives appropriate to the attainment of the social well-being to which all populations aspire. I am sure that a reading of this work will have more than an academic interest and that it will enable everyone working for better health in Africa to strengthen their faith in an ideal on which we decided together : Health for all by the year 2000 in order that men may devote theinselves to peaceful and constructive tasks.
